Verify it yourself
You don’t have to take our word for it. Every browser ships with the tools to check what a website sends.
- 1Open any tool page and let it finish loading.
- 2Open developer tools (F12 or ⌥⌘I) and switch to the Network tab.
- 3Add a file and run the tool.
- 4Watch the requests: none contains your file. You can even go offline first — the tool still works.
Privacy questions
What does the site download to my browser?
The page, the tool’s code (JavaScript and WebAssembly), fonts and — for OCR — language data. All of it comes from our own domain.
Do you use analytics?
We may use cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics that count page views and anonymous tool events, such as “compress finished in under 5 seconds”. File names and contents are never included.
What happens to my file after I close the tab?
It disappears from memory. Nothing is stored on our side because nothing was ever sent to us.
