Trim margins and white space from PDF pages
Many PDFs carry more margin than they need. Academic papers with wide gutters, scanned pages with a gray border from the scanner lid, slides exported with thick padding, or e-books that look tiny on a phone because most of the screen is blank. Cropping tightens the visible page area so the content takes center stage.
This tool trims a fixed amount from each edge you choose. You type the numbers, pick the pages, and download a new PDF where those pages show only the area inside your margins.
When cropping helps
- Reading on small screens. Removing wide margins lets the text fill a tablet or phone display, which means less zooming and scrolling.
- Cleaning scans. Trim the dark edges and shadows that flatbed scanners leave around each page.
- Preparing figures. Cut a chart or diagram out of a full page before dropping it into a presentation or report.
- Printing layouts. Tighter pages scale up better when you combine several per sheet with N-up PDF.
- Standardizing exports. Remove headers or footers that a system stamped at the page edge.
Getting the measurements right
Start small. Try 10 millimeters on each side, download the result, and check it in your PDF viewer. Adjust from there. Because the file you download is new each time, there is no harm in trying a few values.
Measurements are taken from the current visible edge of each page. If a PDF has already been cropped by another program, your margins are subtracted from that existing crop, not from the original paper size.
Odd and even pages of a book scan often need different left and right margins. Run the tool once for odd pages, such as 1, 3, 5, 7, and again on the output for even pages with mirrored values. If pages are sideways, fix orientation first with Rotate PDF so top and bottom mean what you expect.
Local processing keeps it private
Cropping runs right in your browser. The page includes a JavaScript PDF engine, and when you click the button it adjusts each page's visible box in memory, then saves the new document to your device. Your PDF is never posted to a server, so private reports and client work stay under your control.

Important limitation
Cropping hides content outside the new edges, but it does not erase it. Anyone with a PDF editor could expand the page box again and see the trimmed area. For personal data, account numbers or confidential notes near the edge, use Redact PDF to remove them properly.
There is no visual drag-to-crop box here. Margins are entered as numbers, and the same values apply to every page in the selection. Very large files are limited by available device memory.

How do I crop a PDF page?

Can I crop just one page or a range of pages?
Yes. Type the page numbers into the 'Pages' field, such as 4 or 2-6. Leaving the field empty applies the same crop to every page.
What units does the crop use?
Margins are entered in millimeters. As a reference, 25.4 millimeters equals one inch. Each value is measured inward from the page's current visible edge.
Does cropping delete the hidden content?
No. Cropping changes the visible area of the page, but content outside that area can still exist inside the file. If you need to permanently remove sensitive information, use Redact PDF instead.
Will cropping reduce quality or add a watermark?
No. The page content is not redrawn, so text and images keep their original quality. The tool never adds a watermark.
What happens if my margins are too big?
If the margins would leave no visible area on a page, the tool stops and tells you which page is affected. Lower the values and run it again.
Is it safe to crop a PDF online here?
